“For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive…Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” — 1 Corinthians 15:22;45

Today is gonna be short. As I was taking a look at the world around me, how people are literally eating, drinking, and being merry with little to no concern for their sin, judgment, or the afterlife, I began to evaluate my own life. Am I living in the same manner? Or have I truly stepped into my new nature in Christ?

“For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.” — Romans 5:19

Scripture appears to separate mankind into two categories: those in Adam, and those in Christ. Every person who is born on this earth begins their life with the nature of the first Adam. As a fallen human being they are in bondage to sin and death. Christ then came as the second, or last Adam, to restore His people into their rightful position before the fall of Adam. He became man, obeyed God perfectly, and succeeded where Adam failed as our first representative. In doing so, He was given authority to count the unrighteous as righteous, the unholy as holy, the sinner as a saint, and forgive those that have trespassed God due to their inherited sinful nature from the first Adam.

All have sinned, and in Adam all die. So Christ became the solution to the sinful dilemma of mankind. The problem with many is that in order to receive this new nature, one must repent, stop living a sinful lifestyle, and place ones trust and faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. They must also receive the life He desires them to live through His service. Even if one intellectually understands the gospel, their love for the world must be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit for them to believe. The Bible says that no one can come to Christ unless the Father draws him, and it is the Spirit that gives life. This means that even though eternal life is offered to all, not everyone will receive it. Many will spend their entire lives as walking dead people, trespassing God, seeking idols to comfort their hearts, and placing other gods in a position of worship that was meant solely for Yahweh. So this second nature is not universally given to all. In order to be transformed, you must repent, believe, and place your faith in the true Messiah, the Eschatological Adam.

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” — Colossians 1:13–14

*Eschatology is the study of the last days, therefore, the Eschatological Adam is a clever way to denote the Last Adam, Yeshuah Ha’mashiach.
